RIMOWA has built a 130-year reputation on silver — on suitcases engineered to behave. This season, two new colours have arrived to add panache to your travel plans. A pop palette that includes orange and magenta are not so much a colour launch as a small act of rebellion against Rimowa's own instincts. Orange arrives with the warmth of a sunset caught mid-descent, electric and unhurried. Magenta is its more brooding counterpart: a deep, velvet-dark fuchsia with the gravity of couture rather than the sugar rush of neon.
Breaking its own rules
Colour has always played a quieter role at Rimowa. The brand's most iconic pieces, the grooved aluminium suitcases that made it famous, have mostly stuck to silver and gunmetal, with the design doing the talking so the colour never really had to. The house has experimented before, with shades like Granada pink and Verde green showing up here and there, but nothing quite like this.
Orange and magenta throw that out the window. They're bold, a bit maximalist, and very much in step with a moment where culture is gravitating towards eclectic colours and various degrees of opulence instead of sticking to quiet luxury and beige everything. It's a fitting match for a campaign built on exactly that kind of spectacle.
Rossy de Palma sets the scene
And who better to rep these eclectic cool cousins of the original silver than actress Rossy de Palma — Almodóvar's longtime muse who's spent three decades embodying a very specific brand of Spanish eccentricity.
Inside Essential and Groove
Even with the bold new avatar, the core stays authentically Rimowa. Crafted out of strong polycarbonate and fully colour-matched from shell to hardware for an unbroken, saturated finish, a stage-free telescopic handle, the house's multiwheel system, TSA-approved locks, and the signature Flex Divider interior — a compression system that turns packing into something closer to Tetris than triage. A complimentary leather address tag adds a note of old-world quiet to an otherwise bold object.
