The hand-painted and hand-patinated surface brings a softly varied, multi-toned matte finish to the metal, while hand-blown sodalite glass bulbs from Firozabad introduce an altogether different texture. Gently bubbled and organic in appearance, the glass diffuses the light and takes the edge off the chandelier’s more graphic geometry.

The result is a considered meeting of Indian craftsmanship and contemporary design, with the lighting doing as much to shape the atmosphere as the object itself.
