THE SCULPTURAL DUAL FLOOR LAMP

A sinuous brass base rises into a split vertical form in this floor lamp, where ribbed metal, warm teak and soft fabric shades come together in striking balance.

Craft Type: Sand-cast brass, teak wood finishing, fabric

The making of this floor lamp is almost as intricate as the silhouette itself. More than 20 individually sand-cast brass components are welded and hand-ground by Moradabad artisans, creating the continuous form that moves from a coiled base into a deeply ribbed upper arm. The result is a structure that feels fluid despite the precision involved in bringing each element together.

At its centre, a substantial teak pillar finished in a rich walnut stain interrupts the expanse of brass with a warmer, more tactile note. Above it, two neutral-toned fabric shades soften the lamp’s architectural lines, casting a warm, ambient light across the contrasting surfaces. The brass is left with a subtle brushed patina, allowing the hand-worked character of the metal to remain visible rather than appearing overly polished.

Standing at almost 69 inches tall, it has the presence to hold its own in a room, whether tucked beside a reading chair or placed as a statement piece in a hotel suite or refined living space. The lamp measures approximately 19 (W) X 24 (D) X 68.8 (H). All sizes in inches.
