The perfect combination of serving essentials for a scrumptious meal
Craft Type: Wood Work
Our eco-friendly woodwork is crafted by nature-loving artists from Jaipur, Saharanpur and Auroville in highly skilled wood workshops. The wood used in this craft is sourced from the Acacia tree, grown in sustainable forests in Auroville. Each piece is made from 100% wood with no additional composites, wood pulp or plywood in it. Our shapes are kept purposefully simple, with a focus on quality, durability and sustainability, ensuring a long shelf life. Moreover, the natural color and even texture of the bark of the Acacia tree gives our woodwork an inviting warm color and a satisfyingly smooth touch.

Products like this one are made by carving wood by hand with the help of tools such as knives, chisels and mallets. In some cases, it also involves woodturning, a process that — much like a potter’s wheel — involves having a piece of wood spin on an axis as it is cut and molded into the required shape. The wood products used as serve ware and dinnerware are treated with food-safe oil, in this case tung oil, making it 100% safe to use for all food items. It’s also worth noting that wood is a hard material, which does not chip or break easily, and therefore products made with natural wood are long-lasting.
- Wash by hand only, using a mild dishwashing soap. Dry completely with a soft towel and let it air, preferably overnight, before storing it. To avoid the swelling and cracking of wood, do not soak in water.
- To keep the wood in good condition and to maintain the color and shine of the wood, it is advisable to apply a little oil from time to time. Use a soft cloth and a conditioning oil for this purpose. Steps to follow for conditioning: After gently washing the product as described above, rub a liberal amount of conditioning oil like olive oil or tung oil all over the product. Set the product on a towel to let the oil soak in for a few hours, then apply a second coat. Repeat until the product doesn’t seem to absorb any more oil. With a clean, gentle cloth, rub off any oily residue that’s left over.
- This product is not microwave-safe.
